Our Vision
We envisage a world where all have had the opportunity to know the Sovereignty of God, his unfailing love, as expressed through the finished work of Christ on the cross of Calvary, and are prepared for His return.
Our Mission
Our mission is to live our lives, and to carry out His commands in such a way that would demonstrate God’s sovereignty through his interventions in the lives of individuals or nations; His unfailing love through the salvation of souls, and the meeting of various needs, and to prepare our world for His return by building the body of Christ unto maturity.
Introduction
Dr. Mfon Cyrus-David is a born-again Christian who met Jesus Christ through a school mate in 1977. Through God’s love and guidance, and the help and tutelage of many Christian believers, he grew in grace, and in 1983, he received his call to the ministry. Sitting on the bed in his bedroom, the Holy Spirit directed him to Genesis 17:2, and made a covenant with him. Genesis 17:1-6 (NKJV) states, “1 When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, ‘I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless. 2 And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.’ 3 Then Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying: 4 “As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many nations. 5 No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations. 6 I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you.’” From then on, it has been a walk of closeness and partnership with the Holy Spirit, as he collaborates with other ministers to deliver the message of his calling.
The Message.
Upon finding that his ministry gifts align with the offices of a prophet and teacher, and that he has been sent to deliver a simple message, which states, “God is sovereign, we should worship Him. His love is unfailing, we should put our trust in Him. ‘Get ready, for He is coming back’”; he committed himself fully to operating in the confines of these offices, and in 2013, he founded the Newfoundland Foundation Inc., which is currently situated in Sugar Land, TX.
He has endeavored to take this message to various Christian groups through the following programs of the ministry.
The Intercessory Prayer Ministry
He is dedicated to and offers daily and quarterly intercessory prayers for the leaders and people of the United States of America and other nations of the world. Through these, the wiles of the evil one are curbed, and the people are emancipated, which serve to foster good decision making, peace and prosperity.
Christian Ministry Experience
They have endeavored to take this message to various Christian groups including the following.
Family Ministry
He has continued to serve the body of Christ with the primary focus on building healthy families, as he speaks and teaches in Christian education programs, counsels and prays for married and engaged couples and families. He has taught on marriage enhancement for over 20 years.
Christian Life Ministry
He has served in various positions including a Church Growth Pastor in Power Chapel International Uyo, Nigeria. He also serves as a public speaker in seminars organized by various Christian groups including the Full Gospel Business Men Fellowship International in Southern Nigeria, various university Christian students’ groups, the NUNA Associates Conferences and meetings, The Assemblies of God South Texas Diocese Regional Conference, and the Braeswood Assembly of God Church Fellowships.
Currently, He is the author of an inspiring book titled When the Fire Fell, and has written many periodicals on Christian Living (visit www.newfoundlandfi.org; see the Free Download Section of the Media page ).
Young Adults/Singles and Campus-Focused Ministry
His Christian service spans over two decades, where they served as the Vice Presidents in the Nigerian Fellowship of Evangelical Students’ Christian Union (NIFES) (i.e., a replica of Chi Alpha Ministry here in the US), with the focus on evangelism and discipleship. He also served as the Chairman of the Joint Campus Christian Fellowships of their University (i.e., the University of Port Harcourt, Port Harcourt, Nigeria). As the Chairman of the NIFES Uyo Subzone (in Nigeria), he worked with other leaders to motivate young Christians within and outside the organization towards a fervent walk with Jesus Christ. This work continues through his relationship with the NIFES Uniport North America Alumni Outreach efforts, and the Engaged Encounter Workshops—an Assemblies of God Inc. pre-marriage preparatory program.
Christian Medical Missions
A part of the objectives of the Newfoundland Foundation, Inc is to preach and teach the gospel of Jesus Christ with the Holy Spirit’s power, and to pray for and reach out to those who are in need or the sick (especially the medically underserved) with God’s love and benevolent services. As a medical doctor, he is an accomplished expert in medical affairs with a focus on oncology and precision medicine, who also specializes in the use of the literature and medical informatics for medical affairs (including molecular diagnostics, therapeutics, clinical epidemiology, healthcare economics and outcomes research), performance evaluation, and strategic management. He has over 30 years of healthcare delivery, research and management experience. All of his experience, he has used to foster his medical management and missionary works, with a specific focus on establishing the comprehensive Clinical Cancer Prevention program, which would set up and manage Clinical Cancer Prevention Centers in areas at high-risk of cancer-related deaths within and outside the United States (e.g., the inner cities of the USA, and sub-Saharan Africa).
What We Believe
- The Full Gospel of Jesus Christ: We believe in the full gospel of Jesus Christ. This includes the gospel of redemption, reconciliation, sanctification, growth unto maturity, and the resurrection unto eternal life with Christ Jesus.
- Concerning Marriage: We believe that marriage is between a man and a woman, who have given their consents to each other. Divorce should be a last resort, and such a decision should be in accordance with sound doctrine, and the process should be supervised by the local Church authority.
